What’s happening in the gardens?

New Greenhouse! Gardens of Alcatraz volunteers built a beautiful cedar greenhouse in the Rose Terrace this past winter, which has become the island's plant propagation center. During the military and federal prison periods, the Rose Terrace was the hub of gardening operations and a greenhouse stood on this same site. For more photos click here.
